Amazing Tool for Anyone!

***Highly Recommend*** Im shocked that no one has reviewed this app yet. This app is a great resource for anyone whos interested in learning Japanese. You can choose from a wide range of "textbooks" to study words and phrases. Its extremely easy to get started, and words and will automatically when youre ready for more. I was so excited to have found this app, but I was surprised to find out, one week after beginning, that I was required to pay (quite a hefty price) to continue studying new books. There is a massive amount of material in this app, making it [kind of] worth the price tag. One thing I ask to have improved, after the week of using the app, is to have the ability to combine multiple books into one list or more easily create new lists to study. Overall, I gave this app four stars because it is an amazing language-teaching app. Minus one star because of the price

APP: Amazing. Price to rent: Exorbitant.

I love this app. But the cost is exorbitant. Period.

Love the app!

I always liked the idea of Skritter, but it wasnt until they released the app that I started using it more frequently. Works very well, and has helped me a lot with learning kanji.

Hate this app

It is useless!!

Needs an update

I LOVE this app. Ive been using it since it launched and it has been pivotal to my Japanese language study. I prefer it over Anki and Memrise. However, it has been over a year since the app received an update. There are minor bugs, the app runs slow on my phone, and pronunciations that dont match readings. An update has been promised for months.....but so far nothing. I dont plan to continue my subscription until one is made. If it matters: the app interface is also not attractive; the desktop version is more pleasing.

Universal

I used it on iPad in that blown up version. At least, with jb, I could get retina graphics on iPad, but it still was a blown up iPhone screen. Now it feels more comfortable to use.

Cant use the app. Always crashing.

Please fix this problem.

Best Way to learn japanese

1 Year of skrittering, 430 Kanji learned (read, write, translate) in 1200 combinations. Best Way to learn japanese.

Extremely useful app for learners of Japanese

When I started learning Japanese last year I came across this very useful app and have been using it ever since. The major advantage if Skritter compared to similar apps is that Skritter comes with ready-to-use vocabulary sets for the most frequently-used textbooks (e.g. Genki I and II, Tobira, Basic Kanji, Heisig etc). Thus, theres no need to first copy all words from the textbook, which means you can start learning right away. Skritter will teach learners reading and writing Japanese words. If I had to choose just two apps for learning Japanese, it would be Skritter and Anki (which works a bit like Skritter but requires you to first copy all the words from your books. Anki, however, is a bit more versatile in that it can be used for learning all kinds of things, from languages to medicine).

Love it

30.10.2014 New updates fixed all problems!! Thanks for the quick fix to the always nice and very cooperative staff! They always reply to Problem reports, Great service! My favorite Japanese app, using it since launch and never regretted. Thanks for staying awesome!!

Worth it!

Worth every cent if used regularly! :)

Expensive, but the best

Really fantastic concept, drills the Kanji and pronounciation into your brain. Expensive because of the subscription model but you can still use the app unsubscribed, you just cant add new characters. The best Japanese learning app!

Excellent Kanji Review Tool

I use Skritter all the time for learning Chinese characters. Its great to see the same powerful tool available for learning Japanese Kanji. The subscription has been well worth the price, providing full access to the Skritter website, and both the Japanese and Chinese Skritter apps. Its very easy to set-up study lists, and Ive made substantial gains in character retention since Ive started using Skritter. Theres also fully integrated support for Heisig keywords (which is the learning system Im using). Recommended for all learning Japanese Kanji.

Skritter is the best- no competition

The best tool for learning, recognising, and writing characters. You will believe this too after the demo and 1 week free trial to get you started.

Fantastic ap!

This is such a great tool for studying. I cant explain how excited I feel when I see or hear a word or kanji I learned with this ap.

The best

This is the best educational app I have ever used. Its fun, engaging and efficient. 5 stars!

Surprising.

This is an incredibly good app. As someone who wishes to learn Japanese as a pastime, this definitely helped. Unfortunately, given my current circumstances, Im unable to afford any of the subscriptions, but my trial period was enough to tell me how awesome this app is. Maybe in the future, Ill invest some money on this app. I can definitely see how it could be worth it.

iOS 7 only?

So you must use a brand-new OS thats been Swiss-cheesed with more security holes every day, or you cant update? Thats pretty weak... If I was a subscriber Id be furious.

Good!

Really great app, cant seem to delete study lists though...
